One of the most important skills an interior designer can acquire is the ability to work with their clientele in a meaningful and cooperative way.  Oftentimes, success depends upon taking into account that clients come from all socioeconomic backgrounds and bring to the job a wide array of personalities, ages and histories.

The two cases below illustrate the point.  Although each gentleman wanted his apartment to have a contemporary, New York-style "Bachelor Pad" motif, the two men couldn't have been more dissimilar.

Client #1, who decided on the Manhattan style, is a father of two girls.

On the other hand, Client #2, who preferred the NY Art Deco theme, has never been married and only recently moved out of his parents' home.

Although rather diverse in terms of their backgrounds and personalities, both gentlemen were a joy to work with and are appreciated for allowing photographs of their apartments to be posted here.
